Business Finance Calculators Australia
Also called: business loan calculators, finance calculators for business.
Quick answer
These business finance calculators estimate repayments, borrowing power, tax debt interest and bridging costs from the figures you enter. Each one shows its working and an example rate you can change, and every result is an estimate for planning, not a quote or an approval.

Sources: calculator and guide pairings from the Switchboard Finance calculator pages and guides (switchboardfinance.com.au, reviewed 27 September 2026). This table carries no figures. Each calculator's example rate is an indicative practitioner figure as at 27 September 2026, not a quote; the ATO payment plan calculator uses the general interest charge rate the ATO publishes for each quarter (ATO, General interest charge rates, QC16145, ato.gov.au, updated 4 September 2026, read 27 September 2026).
How do these calculators work?
Each repayment calculator spreads the amount financed, less the present value of any balloon, over the term at the rate you enter, with every repayment paid at the end of its period.
Monthly repayment = (amount financed − balloon ÷ (1 + r)n) × r ÷ (1 − (1 + r)−n), where r is the annual rate ÷ 12 and n is the number of months.
This is the standard amortisation formula set out in the Reserve Bank of Australia's Research Discussion Paper 2021-10, Appendix A, with a balloon added where the loan has one. The shared assumptions, stated once for every calculator here:
- Repayments are made in arrears, at the end of each period.
- Monthly is the source of truth; weekly is the monthly repayment × 12 ÷ 52 and fortnightly is × 12 ÷ 26.
- Fees, charges, insurance and stamp duty are excluded unless you enter them.
- Every example rate is a practitioner figure with an as-at date beside it, never a quote or an offer. Change it to the rate you have been quoted.
Nothing you type is stored on our servers until you choose to send it with an enquiry.
Four calculators add a method of their own, set out on their pages: the borrowing power estimator works back from what the business can repay to a borrowing range, the factor rate converter turns a fixed cost into an annualised rate, the bridging calculator tracks how capitalised interest builds the debt until the sale, and the payment plan calculator applies the general interest charge, which the ATO updates each quarter. Every calculator repeats these assumptions in its own working section, with anything particular to it, such as the balloon limit on the truck repayment calculator.
Are the results quotes or approvals?
No. Every result is an estimate built from the figures you enter and an example rate, and the lender's assessment of your application decides the actual rate, term, amount and repayment.
A calculator cannot see what a lender reads: your credit file, your bank statements and financials, and the asset or property behind the loan. When you want a figure checked against current lender policy, press the yellow button under the result on the calculator you used and your figures come with you into the enquiry, or check your eligibility first. What do business owners ask about these calculators?
Which calculator should I use for a truck?
Use the truck finance calculator for a prime mover, rigid or trailer bought for the business; it takes the price, deposit, term and a balloon of up to 40 per cent. If the truck is one item in a wider plant purchase, the equipment finance calculator runs the same maths.
Are these calculators quotes?
No, each calculator gives an estimate from the figures you enter and an example rate. The lender's assessment decides the actual rate, term and repayment.
Do they include fees?
No, not unless you enter them. Establishment fees, ongoing fees, insurance and stamp duty are left out, so add them to the amount you enter if you plan to finance them.
Can I send my result with an enquiry?
Yes. Press the yellow button under any calculator's result and your figures come with you into the enquiry form; nothing reaches us until you send it.
How often are the example rates updated?
Each example rate shows the date it was set, and we review them at least every quarter, and sooner when lending rates move. The ATO payment plan calculator uses the general interest charge rate, which the ATO updates each quarter.
